While LUFS measures standardized program loudness, PLFS focuses on perceived density, impact, and overall mix strength.
By comparing PLFS with LUFS, the meter provides a PLD value that reveals the gap between measured loudness and perceived loudness.
A larger PLD generally indicates a mix that feels stronger and more solid without simply relying on higher LUFS levels.
